Sweden is represented by a talented musician, the pianist and composer Daniel Karlsson – who has just been awarded the prestigious “Jazz in Sweden Award 2005” and who released the album “Pan-Pan”. Daniel Karlsson is perhaps best known through collaborations with important Swedish jazzmen and as a member of the Oddjob group, having participated in numerous concert and festival events in his homeland and in the rest of Europe. He has recently formed his own group – with which he also recorded “Pan-Pan” – featuring some of the most talented musicians in Swedish jazz. His compositions are such that they cover a wide expressive range – perfectly in tune with what the Nordic jazz scene has become accustomed to in recent decades. Daniel Karlsson is one of the worthy representatives.
