A saxophonist and composer, already one of the great talents of the Dutch jazz scene, Kika Sprangers has shown from her first album, "Human Traits", back in 2019, the uniqueness of her music and art. The result is accolades and awards and a second album, "Mind's Eye", just released by ZenneZ Records. Her compositional style, lyrical and narrative, combines jazz developments with saxophones and vocals on solid rhythmic foundations, producing delightful musical pieces. Moreover, Kika Sprangers' artistic pursuits, with her quintet or other larger groups, show that she is stepping outside the usual boundaries of jazz, giving us music that looks set to stand out in the near future.
