Thomas Clausen is considered one of the greatest modern jazzmen of Denmark. A pianist and composer of exceptional ability, he has been continuously active since the early 80s. His talent was first noticed by the great saxophonist Dexter Gordon, which led him to the various projects of the famous trumpeter\/composer Palle Mikkelborg, but also in collaboration with legendary Danish jazzmen, such as the unforgettable bassist Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen (NHOP).As a pianist, at the legendary club Jazzhuis Montmartre in Copenhagen, he played with Ben Webster, Jan Garbarek, Elvin Jones, Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, Stan Getz, Joe Henderson, Jackie McLean, Johnny Griffin and many other jazz stars.Since the late 70's he has had his own trio, with which he began to create his personal albums. This trio was renewed at the end of the 80's making important collaborations with vibraphonist Gary Burton and cemented Thomas Clausen's place in modern jazz.
