With accolades and awards at prestigious institutional events and participations at the North Sea Jazz Festival \u2013 where he received the Bird Award in 2002 \u2013 Vloeimans eschews stylized playing and prefers to write his own compositions. His writing is cool, creative and modern \u2013 but exudes a deep sense and respect for tradition. On stage, his playing, beyond technique, becomes \"physical\" and meets the same vitality on Fraanje's piano. The result is not only music, but also multi-colored painting on a constantly changing sound canvas.
