Born in Bilbao, he made his career in Barcelona, where he appears with the other two members of his band: drummer David Xirgu and double bassist Raimon Ferrer, experienced musicians who have played with John Abervrombie, Vince Mendoza, Victor de Diego and Chris Cheek. Gorka Ben\u00edtez's last two records, \u201cFabou\u201d and \u201cGorka Ben\u00edtez Trio\u201d, have been warmly received by critics as a new contribution to Spanish jazz.
