Are you ready to jazz? From May 22 to 29, the Technopolis City of Athens will be grooving again this year to the rhythms of Athens Jazz, the most prominent jazz music festival in Greece! The festival features 21 artists and ensembles on the Technopolis stage, providing a multifaceted, international lineup of performances that celebrate jazz music. And, of course, the festive climate is not limited to the stage: A rich series of side events accompany this year's Athens Jazz, inside and outside Technopolis, offering visitors a complete festival experience.<\/p>\n

Just like in previous years, the abundant and always creative\u00a0Meet Market\u00a0and the\u00a0photo exhibition\u00a0of the METApolis team will be there. This year, the Vinyl Market will also be joining in, filling the air with the sweet aroma of vinyl for a whole weekend. In Technopolis, the\u00a0new stand-meeting point of the \u201cJazz Solidarity Network\u201d, ideal for jazzy talks, will accommodate visitors throughout the festival. Meanwhile, a few hours before the live performances, young and grownups -jazz lovers or not!- will have the opportunity\u00a0to visit the Industrial Gas Museum for free\u00a0as part of the celebrations for its 10th\u00a0anniversary.<\/p>\n

Embark on a journey of introspection and negotiation into the city's identity with the METApolis photographic team. The exhibition, \u201cChanging Lanes\u201d, featuring over 130 photographers, explores street photography, staged photography, and urban landscape concepts. The collection captures the ever-evolving metropolis, showcasing everything from historical monuments and graffiti on building facades to public transport and apartment interiors, providing a unique perspective on our daily urban landscape.<\/p>\n

\nTechnopolis City of Athens | Industrial Gas Museum<\/p>\n

The Industrial Gas Museum is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and has extended its visiting hours for the Athens Jazz Festival. Visitors can now walk through the facilities of the old gas factory, which provided light and energy to Athens for almost 130 years. The gas plant is a rare example of industrial heritage and is the only one in Europe still maintaining its impressive equipment intact in situ. The museum will be open from Monday to Sunday, just before live performances on the Technopolis stage. On Friday, May 26, the Museum staff will be on the grounds to assist those who want to learn more about the history and operation of the Athens gas plant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jazz Solidarity Network <\/b>

The \"Jazz Solidarity Network\" is a robust non-profit organization with more than 100 members, talented musicians, dancers, and artists from the Greek jazz scene. Their sole purpose is to support and promote the Greek jazz and improvisational scene by creating ample funding opportunities for their artistic work. They are thrilled to announce their participation in the Athens Jazz Festival from May 22 to May 28, where they will have a stand on the festival grounds to facilitate a healthy exchange of ideas related to jazz among the public and artists.<\/p>\n

This year's Athens Jazz lineup is more diverse than ever, and Vinyl Market will be there, offering an extensive range of records from jazz, rock, soul, and funk to Latin, blues, ethnic, and electronica. But that is not all! Vinyl Market will also have various music-related items, including collectables, new releases, and other displays.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ayers, the mythical \"godfather\" of neo-soul and one of the most influential artists of the global music scene will walk onto Gazarte's Main Stage, bringing his timeless groovy melodies and rhythms at the hottest farewell party ever.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, May 27, the Athens Jazz is transferred to Gazarte in the most explosive party! With their unique energy, the famous actor and singer and his six amazing musicians will give an outstanding performance full of positive vibes and afro, soul, and jazz rhythms, not be missed!
