Yuri Honing Trio (Netherlands)

Together since 1990, the band managed to become one of the best known Dutch bands of the new generation. Touring more than 15 countries around the world he "built" a unique personal style based on communication, ingenuity and friendship. Influenced by a wide variety of musical styles he always tries to keep his music as strong and real as possible. Each member contributes equally to the band's sound. Joost Lijbaart mixes African drumming with modern drumming idioms, managing to be as melodically important as the other band members. Tony Overwater, thanks to his unique interpretation of the acoustic bass (he uses the whole instrument and not just the strings), creates a wide variety of musical accompaniment for the band's compositions. Yuri Honing, with his powerful and lyrical sound, creates vivid stories with his saxophone in the environment of rhythms.
