Γιάννης Κασσέτας & the funk wizards

Yiannis Cassetas is one of the most important young saxophonists of the Greek jazz scene, but also an extremely interesting composer, as can be seen from his first personal album, entitled "The truth about the alien invasion in Egypt", released in 2007 with his band 'The Funk Wizards'. The group's wide musical range covers from post-bop and modal jazz to jazz funk and modern trends, always open to Greek rhythm and specificity. He began learning saxophone and piano at an early age, but became serious in his teens when he received a scholarship to Berklee School of Music. There he also completed his studies, with the result that today he stands out, collaborating with Greek and foreign jazzmen. His first album received very good reviews, while his second album is expected soon.
