Takoushis-Karapatakis Project

Pianist Marios Takousiis and bassist Gavriel Karapatakis have an excellent relationship of friendship and cooperation for more than ten years. In the winter of 2008, they sealed this collaboration by creating the M. Takousiis - G. Karapatakis Quartet which began to make various appearances at Festivals and on selected music stages in Cyprus. 

In July 2009, their first digital disc was recorded, which was released in March 2010, and on the occasion of this, a successful concert / presentation was given in the same month at the "Rialto" in Limassol. On the same occasion, they will be presented in July 2010 at the Axiothea Mansion as part of the Cultural Festival of the University of Cyprus. In the same year, they give three concerts in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca in the context of perhaps the most important cultural event on the island, the Cyprus International Festival, with guest artist the virtuoso Nenad Bogdanovic on the accordion. In 2011 they start recording for their new album. In November they are presented at the Limassol Jazz Festival 2011 as M. Takousiis - G. Karapatakis Project leaving the best impressions, in a new collaboration with David Lynch, one of the most important musicians of the modern music scene in Greece and Zacharias Spyridakis, a great lyre player of the new generation from Crete.
