Krystof Marek, Sara Bukovska, (Czech Republic)

Kryštof Marek studied piano with Professor Zdeněk Páleniček and conducting with Professor Jiří Kolář. Since the end of the 80s he has been involved - as a pianist, director, arranger of musical works and composer - in a wide range of musical and theatrical works. Currently, he is the director of the Music Theater in Karlin, Prague, he plays regularly with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and, as part of the Prague Proms festival, he conducted, among others, the concerts "Hollywood Night", "Jazz Meets Symphony" and others. In 2010 he gave a concert as a guest with the famous Dutch Metropole Orchestra at the jazz festival in The Hague. At the J.K. Tyl Theater in Pilsen, Czech Republic, he recently staged the jazz operetta "Christian II" which he composed himself. They have released CDs of his own compositions – jazz and other types of music. Pianist Sára Bukovská is a graduate of the Plzeň Conservatory. Already as a 2nd-year student, she became a repetiteur of the opera department of the J. K. Tyl Theater in Pilsen, where she later assumed the position of repetiteur and conductor also of the musical and operetta departments. He is currently a conductor and repetiteur at the Musical Theater in Karlin, Prague. But the range of her musical activities is much wider. In addition to being a successful pianist, she is also involved in composition and music direction. Thanks to her potential and abilities, her extraordinary artistic zeal and wide repertoire (classical music, opera, chanson, jazz) she also collaborates with other Czech theaters and music scenes and as a pianist-soloist gives numerous concerts in the Czech Republic, as well as abroad, mainly in Japan and Germany.
