Eric Vloeimans & Harmen Fraanje Duo

Eric Vloeimans has distinguished himself through the Dutch jazz scene both as a trumpet master and for his compositional skills. With accolades and awards at prestigious institutional events and participations at the North Sea Jazz Festival – where he received the Bird Award in 2002 – Vloeimans eschews stylized playing and prefers to write his own compositions. His writing is cool, creative and modern – but exudes a deep sense and respect for tradition. On stage, his playing, beyond technique, becomes "physical" and meets the same vitality on Fraanje's piano. The result is not only music, but also multi-colored painting on a constantly changing sound canvas. The collaboration of the two musicians has started since 1999 and the two of them, in addition to duets, collaborate with the guitarist Anton Goudsmit or with the veteran cellist Ernst Reijseger.
