The third European Jazz Festival in Athens, with the participation of 14 member countries of the European Union, was organized, under its auspices, by the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens from May 29 to June 1.

On Thursday, May 29, the official opening of the Festival happened with the participation of the City Of Athens Big Band , under the direction of Dr. Thanasis Zerva, who performed well-known compositions. This was followed by the saxophone quartet 'Sax4you' from Austria, the five-member group 'Marco Zurzolo & Banda M.V.M' from Italy, the group 'Largo' from Luxembourg and the 'Gorka Benitez Trio' from Spain. On Friday the 30th of the month, the "Arne Forchhammer΄s Trio" from Denmark, the "Fredrik Nordstrom Special Quartet" from Sweden, the 10-member Greek band "Greek Warriors" appeared, in which the internationally renowned artist Dimitris Vassilakis participated, representing the Great Britain and the original trio "La Campagnie des musiques a ouir" of France. On Saturday, May 31, it was the "Guilfoyle/Nielsen Trio" from Ireland, the "Antti Heermann Quartet" from Finland, the "Yuri Honing Trio" from the Netherlands and the Manfred Leuchter group "Arabesque" from Germany. On Sunday, June 1, the last day of the Festival, the program included the appearance of the "Erik Vermeulen Trio" from Belgium and the Greek participation with the "Mina Alexiadis Quartet".
