Amina Figarova's name is associated with creative moments of musical composition and pianistic approach, regarding jazz originating from Europe or from the wider area around it. Originally from Baku, Azerbaijan, where she learned to play the piano and compose from a very young age, she lives in Rotterdam, which is also her base. Her establishment in Europe contributed to the emergence of her talent, making her in demand. Thus, as a name, it was heard in festivals and clubs such as The North Sea Jazz Festival, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Capetown International Jazzfestival, Salvador Bahia Jazz Festival, Yoshi's, Blue Note Jazz Club, etc. Her first album, "Attraction", released in 1994, was the real launch of her career as a pianist and composer, as it was entirely her own material (which is also true of her later albums). In March 2000 she was invited for concerts in San Francisco, where she started her group, named Amina Figarova International Band. Since then he has released two live albums. Also, in collaboration with Kim Prevost and Bill Solley from New Orleans, he created the album "On Canal Street", while also performing with the singer Denise Jannah and the group American All Stars Band (with James Moody, Nathan Davis , Claudio Roditi, Larry Corryell et al.). At this time Amina Figarova has two permanent groups: her septet, with musicians from the Netherlands and Belgium, and the Amina Figarova International Quintet. She recently released her album, “September Suite”.
