AYYUKA

Straddling Anadolu rock, psychedelic oriental songs, and Western jazz-rock film soundtracks, AYYUKA travel back to the 1970s to articulate their musical dialect in the present, landing somewhere between Eastern tradition and cosmopolitan modernism. Their first releases were so well-received that the band can boast of sharing the stage with the likes of Sonic Youth. In their latest EP, Zaman Ziyan (2024), AYYUKA enrich their kaleidoscopic musical blend with splashes of afro-beat, funk, bossanova and arabesque. Their mesmerizing live performance is guaranteed to send the Athens Jazz audience into a hallucinogenic musical trance.
