Biri- Biri

The biri biri are the biri biri. They were created in 2003 in Heraklion, Crete and for the last three years they have been scattered between the Cretan capital, Athens and France. The eight-member ensemble of biri biri made its maiden recording appearance under the auspices of the Greek Spinalonga Records in December 2009. To date, they have appeared in dozens of shows in Crete and all over Greece. The musical ensemble of biri biri consists of two trumpets, a saxophone, a guitar, bass, drums, voice as well as established and improvised percussion. Their music moves in the area of funk interspersed with jazz, blues and rock elements with English lyrics.
