Christian Mendoza Group

Pianist Christian Mendoza was born in Peru, but lives permanently in Belgium. Initially, as a self-taught musician, he studied at the Conservatories of Ghent and Brussels, with great teachers of the local jazz scene. At the same time, he attended workshops and seminars with great American and European musicians and, since 2006 when he got his diploma, he has been playing with various musical ensembles (duets and large orchestras) of a wide range of jazz, from traditional to its modern trends. His experiences extend to world music, modern classical, salsa, free improvisation or even pop music. He also collaborates with dance groups, has his own trio and appears as a sideman with other groups, while he is the creator of the Christian Mendoza Group with which he won the first prize at the summer Tremplin Jazz d'Avignon Festival in 2009...
