The award-winning quintet, which has performed on major stages around the world, covers a wide range of jazz directions, focusing on the energy-charged hard bop. However, it takes care not to stray too far from its centre of gravity, which is the technical skill of leader Daahoud Salim on the piano, emitting exotic fumes with his playing. Apart from their impressive discography, the band has collaborated extensively with Spanish saxophonist Abdu Salim, Daahoud's father, and Philip Harper, a former member of the Jazz Messengers.
