Didier Labbe's group is from Toulouse and has already completed a ten-year journey in the field of contemporary jazz that approaches transnational musical traditions - and especially those of the Mediterranean and the Balkans - prioritizing the expression of passion and the folk character of this music . Improvisation, strong rhythms and charming melodies are the group's "weapon" in this cross-cultural journey. Thus, through different sounds and original "sources", the Didier Labbe Quartet offers a harmonious musical intersection that stays away from any "elitist" and "academic" approach to jazz.
