Improvisation Workshop by Guy Mintus

Improvisation workshop with pianist, composer and improviser Guy Mintus

In his music, Guy Mintus combines elements from Stride piano to Turkish Makam, Indian rhythms, Jewish melodies and American jazz standards, all with his own signature. Guy Mintus is a "Yamaha Artist", winner of the prestigious Leonard Bernstein Award as well as the audience choice at the Montreux Jazz Festival piano competition.

As part of the 22nd Athens Jazz, the award-winning and well-traveled Israeli pianist and composer will be on the stage of Technopolis on Sunday, May 28 for a unique concert. Guy Mintus comfortably combines his classical musical education with the energetic potential of a rock star or the improvisational ingenuity of a unique jazzman, thus creating a musical alloy that makes him stand out in the international jazz scene.

These characteristics make him the most suitable instructor of an improvisation workshop!

Thus, among the rich side events of this year's Athens Jazz, Guy Mintus will offer an open workshop to students on the art of improvisation, diving into the fascinating world of self-expression, on Monday, May 29 at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory. Discussions, Q&A, musical exercises and rich active participation await those who will be at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory to attend this unique workshop. The workshop is open to musicians of all genres and levels.

The improvisation workshop will be held in English.
