It is almost parochial for a country with the musical culture of Spain, that the search for a creative rethinking of the flamenco tradition is intense. Fran Molina is no exception to the rule. Sensual guitarist, clearly influenced by musicians like Pat Metheny or Jim Hall, he has managed to create a personal sound, cool and electrified, ethereal and earthy at the same time that keeps the essence of flamenco, removing the folk elements. It is no coincidence that he has participated in the most important festivals in Europe, and has toured the Middle East and Africa, spreading his own version of a modern flamenco.
