Grand opening with City Of Athens «Big Band», Alexandra Dousiou and Maria Neida

Big Band of the Municipality of Athens is the expanded jazz music ensemble. The repertoire he presents consists of classic compositions and arrangements by the pioneers of Big Band Jazz literature, modern jazz works and, often, compositions by Greek composers. The Big Band of the Municipality of Athens has performed in all the big halls and music and arts festivals in Athens and Thessaloniki, but also in the Greek region, including the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the Nafplion International Festival, the Athens International Jazz Festival in " Technopolis" of the Municipality of Athens, at the International Wind Seminar in Kalavryta, at the American College, at the Hall of the Hellenic-American Union, at the Athens Conservatory, at the "F. Nakas", at the Art Conservatory Ms. The flexibility and the highest level of its musical performers express the Greek approach to the interpretation of jazz

Alexandra Bousiou was born in Athens in 1978. Her relationship with music begins at the age of 6, learning the piano. At 16, she participates as a singer in school cultural events where she is heard by Varvara Gavakou. They have been working together ever since with an intermediate station the monody diploma. At the same time, he starts jazz piano lessons with Pantelis Benetato and attends gospel and jazz performance seminars by Dennis Montgomery and Donna McElroy. Her voice is a successful combination of many musical currents resulting in a sound color that goes from sensitivity to giftedness and from blues sensuality to a fragile particularity. In the last year he appears with Pantelis Benetatos in music scenes in Athens.

Mariza Niada was born in Athens in 1989 and is a high school senior. She started piano lessons at the age of 7 at the "Filippos Nakas" Conservatory and then at the Athens College. At the same time, he was also involved in the theater, while he was taught harmony and music theory. From the age of 13, he attended voice lessons at the "Pythagorean Conservatory" and practiced the classical, artistic and jazz repertoire. In June 2006, he attended courses in vocal, music theory and history of musical art, specializing in jazz, at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, where he has received a 4-year scholarship to study from the coming fall.
