Guitarist Greg Lamy is an American from New Orleans, but he lives, moves and creates between Luxembourg and Brussels. There he studied classical and electric guitar in the late eighties – and there he specialized in jazz technique. Like so many musicians of his generation, he further studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and, since 2001, has formed the Greg Lamy Quartet – based in Belgium. The repertoire of Greg Lamy and his group consists of jazz standards and personal compositions of the guitarist - with an approach characterized by a serious knowledge and feeling of the jazz tradition, played with special feeling. The Greg Lamy Quartet is on the rise – with appearances at international clubs and festivals in Europe multiplying, while the guitarist himself collaborates very regularly with fellow American jazzmen.
