Jorge Pardo (Spain)

A legend of Spanish flamenco-jazz, Jorge Pardo, who since 1995 formed the group d´3 with Francis Pochet and José Vathketh "Roper", comes this year to the 10th European Jazz Festival of Athens celebrating the Spanish presidency of the EU. In the big career, Jorge Pardo has collaborated with musicians such as Paco de Luthia and Camarón de la Isla, among others. Three masters playing a music with an original flamenco and jazz sound. Their specialty is the mix of flamenco and jazz and their proposal is strong and very nice. Three high level instrumentalists, capable of giving music a new exciting dimension. Jorge Pardo on saxophone, Francis Posse on double bass and José Vathketh "Roper" on drums unite in a jazz explosion that moves on flamenco motifs and achieve a unique sound that leaves no one indifferent. The band d´3 has participated in the biggest festivals, played in the most important music stages and theaters in Spain and toured the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, Poland, China, Egypt, Middle East, Morocco, Tunisia, Ecuador, etc. To date he has released three CDs and one DVD of concert footage.
