The program presented by this duo is based on Scandinavian folk music through a modern perception entitled "Sounds from the Northern Islands". Contemporary music meets the primal traditions and the elegiac beauty of the traditional music of the Baltic countries. The result is a melodic journey to the Nordic Islands inspired by the scent of nature and the folk music of Scandinavian legends and myths. Saxophonist Villu Veski and accordionist Tiit Kalluste are musicians with extensive experience in jazz, folk and improvisation. In recent years, they have been experimenting with Nordic folk music, specifically the musical idiom of the Faroe Islands (in the center of the triangle formed by Iceland, Scotland and Norway). At the end of 1999 they released their album entitled 'Sounds of the Nordic Islands' and in 2002 this artistic venture was completed with 'Sounds of the Nordic Islands II'.
