The present is the language we speak, the music on the supermarket speakers, the ads popping up on YouTube, the movies we watch. OTOOTO are in sync with all these elements, with strains of Homeshake’s hypnagogic pop, Vangelis’ electronic avant-garde and Jazz Messengers’ dynamism also running through their musical DNA. Always experimenting in their electro-organic lab, their mission is to create a nu-jazz mirror that will reflect the modern society and put a sound to its vibrations. In the autumn of 2024, the band released its third studio album, 2nd Quake, securing a spot on the opening day of Cairo Jazz Festival. Their live appearances spotlight melody as the backbone of the Scandinavian cultural canon and offer a captivating sonic experience that invites listeners into a world where musical genres melt into each other and boundaries simply cease to exist.
