Paolo Fresu Devil Quartet

You will need plenty of digital space to record all the bands, collaborations and musical projects with which the "excellent invention of the Italian style" Paolo Fresu has been engaged. At Athens Jazz, we will meet him and his Devil Quartet, with which he has been conversing musically for almost 20 years. The chemistry of this multi-year collaboration is perfectly reflected in the group's live performances, which balance elegantly between southern, warm-blooded spontaneity and central European stylistic and executive precision. A la Miles Davis, always in a Mediterranean tone, sensitive to Fresu's playing, is ideally framed by the musical idiosyncrasies of the other members of the quartet, who are also important figures of Italian jazz, creating the evocative and moving atmosphere that only the artisans of the jazz tradition can sculpt.
