Cuban pianist Ramon Valle is a prominent figure in contemporary jazz. However, it does not specialize in its "Latin" aspect as one might expect. Instead, as a musician who has been based in Europe for years, Ramon Valle moves beyond predictable boundaries and creates his own music regardless of stylistic or geographical limitations. Regarding his own heritage, Ramon Valle searches and finds his own ways of approaching Cuban music, staying away from the usual clichés. With a strong classical background in his playing, he has no limitations and moves with the same ease in opera or modern jazz. Thus, cultivating a personal musical path, he can bring as much Cuba and as much Holland as he wants to his sounds – something that becomes evident in each new presence. Along with bassist Omar Rodriguez Calvo (Cuba) and drummer Jamie Peet (Netherlands), Ramón Valle is in constant communication through music.
