Takis Barberis Group

Takis Barberis is one of the most important and creative jazzmen of our country - with long-term experience in rock, jazz and national music and with a permanent recording presence since the 80s. A member of the historic jazz group Iskra and creator of the Modelo '63 group, since the early 90s Takis Barberis has charted a personal evolutionary musical path that starts with jazz rock and progresses to a creative fusion with folk and folk music. our music, introducing transnational (mainly Indian) rhythmic parameters and modern technology – always with an aesthetic measure and specifications appropriate to modern jazz style and composition. His records ("Something from July", "Are You Happy?", "Episodes", "Naiva" on Lyra, and the recent "Porto Kayio" on Libra Music) give Takis Barberis a very high creative mark in contemporary music scene. At the festival the group will play their compositions, mainly from "Porto Kayio" (but also older ones in a new version). Jazz with many elements of funk, rock, Indian, Balkan and Greek music
