One of Denmark's greatest contemporary jazzmen, Thomas Clausen has proven his skills in many ways since the early 80s. His talent was first noticed by the great saxophonist Dexter Gordon, which led him to the various projects of the famous trumpeter/composer Palle Mikkelborg and also to the collaboration with legendary Danish musicians, such as the unforgettable bassist Niels Henning Orsted Pedersen (NHOP). As a pianist, at the legendary Jazzhuis Montmartre club in Copenhagen, he played with Ben Webster, Jan Garbarek, Elvin Jones, Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, Stan Getz, Joe Henderson, Jackie McLean, Johnny Griffin and many other jazz stars. Since the end of the 70's he has had his own trio - with which he started releasing his personal albums. This trio was renewed in the late 80's, making important collaborations with vibraphonist Gary Burton and cementing Thomas Clausen's place in modern jazz. After a series of projects dedicated to Brazilian music, Clausen now returns to the sound of the classic piano jazz trio, flanked by two outstanding musicians who have collaborated with musicians such as Ben Sidran, Monty Alexander and Inácio Beroa.
