«Trio Braamdejoodevatcher»

«Trio Braamdejoodevatcher» (Netherlands)

What do colors sound like? The answer came in 2001, when this Dutch trio released the experimental album Colors. Until then, the three idiosyncratic musicians were best known for their performance of compositions by Thelonious Monk. Adventurous and restless, they manifest their intention to deconstruct the classic jazz piano trio already by their choice to unite their names into one – because in their case, there is no "leader", but an absolute equivalence between the vertices of this triangle. Consistent in the aesthetics they have decided to serve (or maybe create), BraamDeJoodeVatcher come to Athens with their new project, the CD "Change This Song": the title of each track is an anagram of the CD's title (eg " Songs Each Night”, Nightsong Aches”, etc.), while it is better to listen in a random order – as in live, there is no specific set followed, but they go spontaneously from one track to another. But what constitutes the main artistic success of the trio, is that they manage to be avant-garde and friendly at the same time, to an ear that is not necessarily initiated..
