Τρίο Μάρθας Μαυροειδή

Martha Mavroidis, a new singer we met through her collaborations with the Winter Swimmers and Savina Giannatou, presents music influenced by the Balkan tradition. He has studied musicology in Athens, ethnomusicology in England and America and contemporary music in the Netherlands. He has studied sazz with Pericles Papapetropoulos, Byzantine music with Yiannis Arvanitis, Bulgarian singing with Tzvetanka Varimezova and vocals with Giorgos Samartzis. He has collaborated with many composers of contemporary and national music and was a member of the UCLA Bulgarian Choir. In Greece he collaborates with Antonis Apergis, Costas Theodorou and has collaborated with Mode Plagal, Lizeta Kalimeri, Domna Samiou and Ross Daly. He has composed music for the films "Princess Taste", "Pink River", "The Tour Guide" and the dance theater performances "M" and "Papagalos". Her album, "Rila's garden", is released, with nine of her own songs, one by Antonis Apergis and one by Pantelis Stoikos.
