Athens Jazz welcomes its new Artistic Director, Ag

Athens Jazz welcomes its new Artistic Director, Aggelos Kleitsikas. Raised in Athens, in an environment where music was a way of thinking rather than just a soundtrack, Aggelos never stepped onto the stage as a musician — instead, he found his place behind it, through listening, research, and writing.Since 2015, he has been active as a music and cultural journalist, writing for media outlets such as Avopolis, LiFO, SONIK, and Rolling Stone Greece, while also working in marketing and communications with brands like Netflix, Huawei, and Johnson & Johnson. Since 2023, he has been a member of the team at Technopolis City of Athens, actively contributing to major projects — including Athens Music Week and, of course, Athens Jazz, where he worked closely with the festival’s Artistic Director, Antonis Zouganellis, on artistic programming.Aggelos takes over from Antonis Zouganellis, a person who left a strong mark on the history of Athens Jazz and ran the festival for 10 years with vision, consistency, and deep love for music.In his new role, he aims to further strengthen the festival’s international identity, support the domestic jazz scene, and shape a contemporary artistic direction that brings audiences, artists, and ideas closer together.Welcome on board, @elusivesky!#Athens_Jazz #25thAthensJazz
